Dance events include teaching of the steps of historical Renaissance dances and live music to accompany the dancing. Outfits similar to those of the historical period are fun; clothes suitable for light activity are fine. Events at the Glendale branch library are currently free of charge while other events' policies vary; see the links for those events for more information.
We currently have two types of events. About once a month we are
holding dance lessons. These are more informal sessions where we
explain the steps used in the dances, teach the dances, and have the
band rehearse. This is also where we introduce new dances, so there's
something of interest even if you're already familiar with this style
of dance. Then, about once a quarter, we hold more formal dances with
an emphasis on dancing the dances in a more elegant setting.
